Where Systems Fail, We Rise

Diversity: "The practice or quality of including or involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations, etc."

Equity: "Fairness or justice in the way people are treated; often, specifically: freedom from disparities in the way people of different races, genders, etc. are treated"

Inclusion: "The practice or policy of providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized."

We are severely alarmed by the erasure of resources for survivors and and the silencing of survivor voices by some of the largest anti-sexual violence agencies in the United States to remain in compliance with Executive Orders that harm our most vulnerable communities and populations. We do not stand for this at Survivors RISE.

Critical Resources:

The Trevor Project: The Trevor Project is an American nonprofit organization founded in 1998. Focused on suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth, they offer a toll-free telephone number and online hotline where confidential assistance is provided by trained counselors.

Mental Health Support for Survivors of Color:  The National Sexual Violence Resource Center has compiled a lengthy list of resources for BIPOC seeking mental health support in the wake of sexual violence.

National Immigration Law Center: Know Your Rights/Conozca Sus Derechos - For survivors and community members, know your rights when interacting with law and/or immigration enforcement. Regardless of your documentation status, you can report sexual and domestic violence and have rights and protections for your safety under U.S. law. Additional printable immigration rights in multiple languages: Red Card/Tarjetas Rojas
